The Neon Boys
Neon Boys was an American proto-punk trio active in New York City from 1972 to 1973. The group featured Tom Verlaine, Richard Hell, and Billy Ficca, whose brief existence proved pivotal to the development of punk and rock music. Following their dissolution, the members pursued influential musical careers separately: Verlaine, Hell, and Ficca reunited to establish Television, while Hell additionally founded the Heartbreakers and later Richard Hell and the Voidoids, both significant figures in the punk movement.
