*NSYNC was an American pop boy band formed by Chris Kirkpatrick in Orlando, Florida in 1995. Originally consisting of Kirkpatrick, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone, Justin Timberlake, and Jason Galasso, the lineup was modified when Galasso departed and Lance Bass joined. The group was initially developed in Germany through BMG Ariola Munich before establishing themselves in the United States. Their self-titled debut album, released in Europe in 1997, later gained American prominence with the single "I Want You Back," establishing them as a major force in late-1990s pop music.*
