"Daddy's Home" was composed by the three members of the American doo-wop group Shep and the Limelites: James "Shep" Sheppard, Clarence Bassett, and Charles Baskerville. The band recorded their original version in early February 1961 and released it through Hull Records the following month, with "This I Know" serving as the B-side track.
