This ballad was written by Adelio Cogliati, Piero Cassano, and Eros Ramazzotti, initially under a different title. Ramazzotti first recorded it for his 1986 album Nuovi eroi. A Spanish-language version appeared on the 1988 release Música Es. Chayanne's cover version, released as the lead single from his 1990 album Tiempo de Vals, achieved significant commercial success, reaching number one on the Billboard Hot Latin Tracks chart in late 1990 and earning a nomination for Pop Song of the Year at the Lo Nuestro Awards.
