The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square
The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square is an American vocal ensemble affiliated with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, founded in August 1847. Based in Salt Lake City, the choir has maintained a presence at the Salt Lake Tabernacle for more than a century, performing sacred and religious music. The ensemble gained international recognition through its weekly broadcast program Music & the Spoken Word, which debuted on radio in July 1929 and remains one of the world's longest-running radio programs. Television broadcasts of the program began in October 1949, further expanding the choir's reach and cultural impact.
