Madonna All songs A–Z

Madonna co-wrote and co-produced this track with Stephen Bray for the 1985 film Desperately Seeking Susan. The song draws inspiration from dance floor culture and Madonna's personal attraction to a Puerto Rican man. Constructed with synthesizers, drum machines, and layered vocal techniques, it incorporates suggestive lyrics and functions as a dance invitation. Though originally intended for producer Mark Kamins, Madonna chose to feature it in a film dance sequence instead. It was subsequently included on the international reissue of her second album Like a Virgin and multiple compilation releases across several decades.
