"Bedtime Story" appears on Madonna's sixth studio album from 1994. The track was released as the third single from the album, with different dates depending on region—February 13, 1995 in Australia and most European countries, and April 13, 1995 in the United States. The song was written by Icelandic artist Björk along with British producers Nellee Hooper and Marius De Vries. Madonna, having admired Björk's debut album, initiated the collaboration through Hooper. Though Björk was initially uncertain about working with Madonna, she eventually agreed and created a demo with Hooper that was subsequently reworked and retitled by Madonna and Hooper.
