"Angel" appears on Madonna's second studio album from 1984. The singer co-wrote the composition with Stephen Bray, and it was produced by Nile Rodgers. Sire Records released it as the album's third single in April 1985. In certain markets, the track was issued as a 12-inch single paired with "Into the Groove" and achieved comparable chart success.
