The song was issued as the album's second single and achieved significant commercial success, topping charts in New Zealand, South Africa, and Canada, while reaching number 6 in Australia and number 17 in the United States. The track has since been recognized as one of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll and was ranked among VH1's Greatest One Hit Wonders of the 1980s.
