Mike + the Mechanics

Mike and the Mechanics is a British rock band established in Dover in 1985 by Genesis guitarist Mike Rutherford. Conceived as a parallel venture during a period when Genesis was inactive, the group blends rock with synthpop and new wave influences. The band achieved significant commercial success with a series of notable singles including "Silent Running," "All I Need Is a Miracle," "Taken In," "The Living Years," "Word of Mouth," "Over My Shoulder," and "Now That You've Gone." Their melodic approach and accessible songwriting helped define the sound of 1980s rock-pop crossover music.
