Hotter than July is Stevie Wonder's nineteenth studio album, released in September 1980 on the Tamla label under Motown Records. Wonder recorded it primarily at his recently acquired Wonderland Studios in Los Angeles. The album achieved significant commercial success, reaching number three on the Billboard Top LPs & Tape chart and earning Platinum certification from the RIAA. It performed exceptionally well in the UK, peaking at number two and generating four top-10 singles, making it his most commercially successful album in that market.
